The Department of Health recently announced that it wants emergency angioplasty treatment for heart attacks available for everyone in England within the next three years. This is a core element of its revisions to the guidelines for the treatment of heart attacks published and presented at the Primary Angioplasty meeting held in Manchester on the 20th October 2008.
Research conducted by ScHaRR and the IWP has been a major input to the drafting of the guidelines.

Stephen Wood (with Lilian M. de Menezes, Cass Business School. City University) presented a paper entitled “High Involvement Management, Work Enrichment, Employee Voice and Well-being”. It was in a symposium on “Building HRM Systems for High Involvement, High Performance Work Environments”. Karen Niven, and her co-authors Peter Totterdell and David Holman also presented their paper, ‘Deliberately Influencing Others’ Affect in Organizational Networks’, as part of a symposium about emotions and social networks at work. The symposium was organized by Hyoung Koo Moon (Korea University Business School) and Seung-Yoon Rhee (KAIST Business School).
